What was the Experience like for the Irish on their journey to America? -The experience to America was very very unpleasant, there were many aspects that made the journey to America unpleasant.
-Journeys on the ships to America were filled with disease and filth. Many became ill and/or died. There was also a lack of medicine which made the journey even more risky to take.
-Ships that carried the immigrants were packed full and there wasn’t much room to move around, disease went rampant and once there was a large amount of people affected the disease was hard to stop from spreading.
-People were terrified that they may catch the plague.
-Children were crying and screaming the air smelled and death was in the air, immigrating was a bad experience overall but many Irish took that chance so that they could be successful in America.
